The New iPhone 8 Mini is Here- and it's Pretty Impressive

The iPhone 8 Mini is here! I wanted to wait until I had it for at least two weeks before I made any sort of judgment about the new phone, and now that I have, it’s safe to say that this phone has turned out to be better than I expected. Here’s why the new iPhone 8 mini deserves a place on your wish list, too. In this review, you’ll find out all about the great features and how easy it was to use the iPhone 8 Mini; so without further ado, let’s dive right in!…

Why everyone will be happy about Apple’s new phone

It’s sleek, it’s powerful, and all of your apps will work seamlessly with its brand new OS. For business users looking for a strong phone that will survive years of wear and tear, you won’t be disappointed. If you have kids or spend a lot of time outdoors (beach/pool days, camping trips, etc.), make sure to get a waterproof case! Most cases are built in a way that allows you to use any charger cord – an added bonus. The only downside? If you aren’t used to having an iPhone there’s going to be some adjustment period when switching back from Android or other operating systems… but don’t worry; Apple will walk you through every step of transferring your data over!

 12.0 Megapixels

The camera on your smartphone has come a long way since it was first introduced. You’ve probably got some pretty impressive snaps in your gallery. To put 12.0 megapixels into perspective, that’s like comparing a professional high resolution SLR to a point-and-shoot camera with less than a 1/4 of its photo capabilities!

An excellent screen that does more than ever before

The new iPhone features 3GB of RAM. While that’s really good, I feel like there should be an option for 4 or 6. Apple did away with a lot of great features to make space for battery and storage, so with that many apps on my phone, I notice lag from time to time. Apple fixed a lot of performance issues by allowing developers access to a deep system level API that gives them direct access to resources like CPU cores, GPU hardware acceleration, advanced graphics capabilities, Metal 2 graphics and more. I wonder why they don’t give us more RAM? They obviously don’t need all those extra cycles right now but hopefully they will in future models.

3GB of RAM is awesome, but I wish we had 4 or 6.

Not every user will have a need for 3GB of RAM, but when you’re using your phone as a portable workstation (like I do), those memory resources can come in handy. However, at least Apple has given us an option for more RAM with their new iPhones. That said, I would’ve rather had 4 or 6GB of RAM instead.

32 GB

While an average size for an SD card, 32GB may still be a bit small for your needs. You will likely end up filling up your phone with music, apps, photos, and videos very quickly. To manage storage on your device effectively, you should try to delete things when you can instead of transferring them from one platform to another. For example, if there’s a movie that you want to watch but don’t want on your device anymore, move it to a streaming service like Netflix or Hulu. And if you do find yourself running out of space later on down the line (don’t worry – that doesn’t happen often), Apple offers various options for expanding your phone’s memory.

Lightning Fast Fingerprint Scanner

The Apple iPhone 8 mini has a blazing fingerprint scanner that can unlock your phone in milliseconds! This thing was so quick I ended up accidentally unlocking my phone while typing in my password! Luckily, though, I quickly realized that a simple hit of my finger on sleep put me right back where I needed to be. If you’re looking for a speedy smartphone with excellent security features, look no further than the Apple iPhone 8 mini.

Remaining Battery Percentage in Notification Center

As of iOS 11, you can now check your phone’s remaining battery life in a simple place—the notification center. To do so, swipe down from any screen to view all active notifications. From here, you can see your remaining battery life at both a percentage and an hour-by-hour breakdown—even without unlocking your phone!

A wireless charging station for your bedroom?

If you’re looking to buy a wireless charging station, there are plenty of options to choose from. There are wireless chargers for your car as well! Each of these are handy devices that make life easier. The only problem with them? They tend to be pretty expensive. Luckily, you can make your own wireless charging station fairly easily… so long as you have an old lamp laying around! All you need to do is take apart your lamp, plug in a USB charger, and voila! You now have a wireless charging station. It may not be as fancy or sleek as some other options out there, but if you don’t mind saving money on one—it could work perfectly for you!
