2022 FedEx Fulfillment Review: Which Service is Right for You?
FedEx Fulfillment has long been synonymous with fulfillment service, and it’s easy to see why – the company has made it very clear that they are one of the best in the industry, and they don’t want to disappoint their customer base by doing anything but improving their services year after year. So how do they measure up? Let’s look at how you can do the same.
Ground vs. Freight
Ground shipping typically comes with a lower price tag than freight, but the trade-off is that ground shipping will take more time to reach its destination. If you’re in a hurry and need your package to arrive as soon as possible, then ground shipping might not be the best option for you. Ground shipments are typically delivered within two to five days of being shipped. Freight shipments are more expensive than ground shipping, but they typically take less time to get to their destination due to the faster transit time.
FedEx offers a variety of services, which makes it difficult to decide which is the best for your needs. The three main service offerings are Express, Ground and International. Express will deliver packages in 1-3 business days, Ground will take 2-7 business days and International can take up to 15 days. In addition to these services, FedEx offers premium options that include Saturday delivery, delivery on Sundays and holiday delivery.
One-to-One vs. Smaller Boxes
Some of the boxes you might get are considered one-to-one, meaning they can only be shipped to one address at a time. If you want to ship larger quantities, then you’ll need to use the smaller boxes. When using the smaller boxes, you have five options: 3×3, 6×6, 9×9, 12×12 and 15×15. These sizes are determined by length and width.
FedEx Overnight Shipping provides the fastest delivery service with an average transit time of one business day. By ordering before 3 pm in your recipient’s time zone, you can ship to nearly any address across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. Overnight shipping charges vary by service level and country, but a general overview of pricing ranges from $25-59 depending on weight and destination.
Third-Party Logistics Options
USPS, UPS, DHL, TNT Express and Canada Post.
The USPS offers many services including Priority Mail (1-3 days), Priority Mail Express (1 day), First Class Mail (2-3 days) and Parcel Select Ground (2-8 days). These services range in price from $2 to $87.
Who Should Use FedEx Fulfillment Services?
If you need a company that has experience in the industry to take care of all the details, then FedEx Fulfillment Services may be right for you. However, if you want to save some money and do it yourself, then there are other options.
