New Samsung Galaxy S21 Is Here’s Our Review
The Samsung Galaxy S 21 has arrived! It’s the latest in smartphone technology and offers its users everything they could ask for. This has to be one of the best phones we’ve seen in recent years and it’s sure to be the hot new addition to any smart phone lover’s collection.
What It Is
The new Galaxy S 21 comes with a 6.1 Full HD+ OLED display, and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor and dual-pixel camera setup. There are two variants of the phone: one with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, and one with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. There is also a variant called the Galaxy S 21+, which features 6GB RAM and 512GB of storage. All versions have expandable memory up to 1TB via microSD card slot. They come with Android 9 Pie out of the box. Samsung promises that this update will bring improvements to performance, efficiency, and power management.
In terms of updates from previous models, there is no headphone jack on the device but it does come with AKG earbuds for headphones. It also comes with waterdrop notch design for its screen as well as a glass back panel so users can enjoy wireless charging and reverse charging on their device. Overall, this new phone sounds like it will be an interesting release from Samsung!
The Display
The new Galaxy S 21 from Samsung is a powerful phone with a massive display, but it falls short in some key areas. The first thing you’ll notice about this phone is the large 6.4 inch, 1440×2960 pixel AMOLED display. It is absolutely stunning and will make all of your games and movies look incredible. Plus, there are so many pre-installed games and applications that will keep you busy for hours on end (even if they’re not the best). But while the screen on this device looks great, it also has a few drawbacks as well: it can be difficult to hold because of its size; the device isn’t waterproof or water resistant; and the back of the phone gets hot after extensive use.
The Hardware
The first thing you’ll notice about the new Samsung Galaxy S21 is how sleek and compact it is. The phone has a beautiful 5-inch HD display that is perfect for gaming, and its powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.8GHz quad-core processor will ensure every game runs smoothly. The phone also comes with 4G LTE, which means downloading large files or streaming videos in high quality will be a breeze.
In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy S21 offers WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, and NFC for contactless payments. The camera on this device does not disappoint either; it features an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies or video chatting.
The Camera
The front-facing camera is 5 MP and the rear-facing camera is 16 MP. The rear lens has f/1.7 aperture, which is great for low light photos. We really enjoyed taking pictures with this phone!
The front-facing camera has a number of modes that can be used to make selfies more interesting, including a mode that will blur out the background so you look like you’re in the spotlight! This was fun when we wanted to share some of our favorite moments with friends.
The rear lens has an f/1.7 aperture, which allows for great low light shots but does come at a trade off of decreased detail in your photo due to increased noise and graininess. Aperture controls how much light is allowed into the camera sensor.
The battery life on this phone is phenomenal: it lasts up to two days before needing a charge even if you use social media or stream videos often. It also charges quickly, only needing about 45 minutes before it’s back up and running again.
Overall we found this smartphone easy to use and liked how there were many different options for using the camera.
Battery Life, User Interface, and Software
The battery life of the new Galaxy S21 is impressive. It can last about two and a half days with heavy usage and one day without heavy usage. The user interface is very intuitive and easy to use, which makes it great for people who are still learning how to use a phone. The software on the new phone is also good- it has all of the most recent updates from Android. One issue I had was that the RAM seemed too low- I noticed some lag when scrolling through different apps or changing settings.
Overall, this phone would be a good choice if you’re looking for something sleek and modern but don’t want to spend over $800 on a new iPhone XS Max.
Final Thoughts
Overall, we think the new Samsung Galaxy S 21 is a great option for people who want to be on the cutting edge of technology. From it’s sleek design to it’s stylish features, there is nothing about this phone that we don’t love. Plus, with a guaranteed upgrade in two years when you purchase from T-Mobile, you can rest assured that your investment will last. We would recommend this phone to anyone looking for an innovative and reliable device!
