Wacky and Wonderful 3D-Printed Desk Accessories
3D printing has come a long way in recent years, going from an extremely expensive hobby to something that’s pretty darn cheap and accessible, even for non-techies. The thing about 3D printing, though, is that it’s hard to imagine many practical uses other than printing replacement parts for broken household items, or maybe even the occasional art piece. But there are plenty of practical uses! Today I’m going to share with you eight of my favorite 3D-printed desk accessories that can make your workday much more productive and fun. Let’s get started!
Weird, but Useful Things
A doodle desk toy, a pen holder, or a paperweight; the possibilities are endless when it comes to what you can make with your 3D printer. Check out this list of wacky but useful things to print for your desk. 1) Portable Phone Charger
If you’re always on the go, then you need a way to keep your phone charged. The Portable Phone Charger allows you to plug in your device anywhere there’s a USB port, so that it’ll never die on you again. Just attach the charger to your phone, then drop it in your pocket or bag for instant power without carrying around bulky cords. The charger is also tiny enough to fit in most purses so that women don’t have to lug around an extra bag just for their phones.
2) A Unicorn Head Pillow
If you’re sick of not being able to find the perfect pillow for your needs, this unicorn head pillow is the one for you! It’s great for those who love unicorns, those who need a little extra support while they sleep, or anyone who wants a unique desk accessory. Plus, it can be printed in any size so you don’t have to worry about it fitting on your desk.
3) A Finger Guard For Typing On A Laptop
This one is for those of you who have a tendency to type on your laptop’s keyboard with the wrong hand, or the one that doesn’t correspond to where the letters are. It’s a simple little guard that clips onto the sides of your keyboard and keeps your hands from going too far over. You can even customize the finger slots depending on how big your fingers are!
4) Sticky Notes Holder
Sticky notes are a key part of any workspace. But when you run out, they’re hard to find. This problem can be solved with a simple print. All you need is an empty toilet paper roll, some sticky notes (of course), and a 3D printer!
First, measure the inside diameter of the toilet paper roll. Then cut a strip of plastic to fit the width of the roll’s inside diameter.
5) Selfie Stick Holder
The selfie stick holder is one of the most straightforward designs on this list. Simply attach the holder to a desk or chair with screws, plug in your selfie stick’s USB cable into the USB port of your computer, and you’re good to go.
In addition to holding your selfie stick upright, it also features a storage compartment for spare batteries or charging cables. If you’re looking for a way to freshen up your office space, this is the perfect accessory!
