Disable the Blur Effect on Windows 10 Login Screen
Windows 10 login screen has a blur effect that fades the background image into the login box, but it has to be enabled from the Settings app. If you don’t like the blur effect on the login screen, here’s how to disable it. Just follow these steps
Boot into Safe Mode
- Boot your PC and press Shift + F8 as soon as you see the first logo.
- Select Safe Mode with Networking and hit Enter.
- Log into your user account (you may need to enter your password) and search for Display.
- In the right pane, find Blur and double click it to open its properties window, set it to Off.
- Click Apply > Ok > Restart Now to apply these changes before closing Safe Mode with Networking > Exit System Restore menu in order to return to normal mode, then reboot again if necessary for changes to take effect fully.
Change Startup Settings
In order to disable the blur effect on the login screen, follow these steps:
- Click Start, then type Services.msc into the Search bar and press Enter.
- Locate Windows Logon Manager in the list of services and double-click it to open its Properties window.
- Click Startup type and select Disabled from the dropdown menu.
- Click Apply, then click OK to save your changes and close all windows that were opened during this process.
Log In
The blur effect can be disabled by editing a registry setting. A quick way to do this is to type regedit in Start Search, then click OK. On the left side, double-click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows NT > CurrentVersion > Winlogon. Now just right-click anywhere in that pane and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value. Name it Blur and set its value to 0.
Restart Without Safe Mode
To disable the blur effect, you first need to restart your computer without Safe Mode enabled. This can be done by clicking Restart from your Start Menu and selecting Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart. Press F5 to disable startup programs before pressing Enter to restart your computer.
Turn Off the Account Hint Popup
- Go to Settings. -Select Accounts. -Select Sign-in options.
- In the Windows Hello section, turn off Show my account info when I sign in.
